Synopsis
The movie is approximately 38 minutes
long, starts in color and quickly turns B&W. It overlaps a few scenes and characters from
my earlier movie called Bitterness. My
lovely wife Kim stars in the movie and although she is a thespian neophyte, you
would never know it given her performance.
The story follows her character “Candy” who is a basket case in a big
city and is convinced that all she needs to do is get a change of venue to straighten
her life out. Big city or not, once a
basket case, always a basket case and she does no better upon arriving in the
suburbs. She happens upon Brad, played
by my audio tech Will Mathews, and somehow lures him from his girlfriend and
drives away in his Porsche. Still on
the make, she meets Carl (who is the same character from Bitterness) and right
away, takes advantage of him. You can
set your watch to Carl’s dead pan acting which is why he is so perfect for the
role. In between men, she drifts off
into alcohol and chemical induced trips.
It’s cliché, I know, but it is a great
opportunity to showcase some weirdness and artsy visuals that I love to put on
film. Doug Edwards appears again as the
mailman. I liken his character to the Abominable
Snowman from the Rudolph X-mas movies. I am going to put him in all of my movies. The closing scene takes place at “A timeless
Journey” comic book shop; Enter Leonard.
Len is played by the only real actor in the film,
Charlie Hewson. All I can say is that we were truly lucky to
have him in the cast. I will not give
away the ending except to say that this is part 2 in a 3 part series so it
MIGHT end unresolved.
